In 1984 I started working in the Cliche Verre medium. This technique involves a sheet of mylar that is coated in ink and once dry the negative of the image is scratched into the ink. The drawing is sandwiched between a sheet of photographic paper and a piece of glass and then exposed to light to produce the positive. During the time I made these I was working as a co-curator at Gallery 76 which at the time was the OCA student gallery. I produced the drawing for a Gallery 76 print ad in an art magazine of the time. I’ve always wanted some part my work to be accessible to everyone so I made custom gallery invites that accompanied the exhibitions from that period. These were made available to the public free of charge at the front desk of the galleries. I made the YYZ poster for a show there in 1985 and the S.L. Simpson Gallery poster for a show in 1986.
